Jens Zimmermann
Visiting Professor of Literature and Philosophy, Regent College
Dr. Jens Zimmermann was born and raised in Germany. He earned his PhD in Comparative Literature at UBC in 1997 and a PhD in Philosophy from the Johannes Gutenberg University, Mainz, Germany in 2010. He has taught at Trinity Western University since 2001, holding the Canada Research Chair of Interpretation, Religion and Culture from 2006-2016. He has been the Visiting Professor of Philosophy, Literature and Theology at Regent College since 2016. Jens has edited and authored numerous books, including Re-Envisioning Christian Humanism: Education and the Restoration of Humanity (Oxford UP, 2016), and Hermeneutics: A Very Short Introduction (Oxford, 2015). His intellectual interests are anthropology (who we are) and epistemology (how we know), pursuing these two central questions in the disciplines of theological anthropology, hermeneutics, European literature, and philosophy.
